Easter weekend we went north to Bellingham so we could spend it with Dan’s Aunt Lora and Uncle Jerry. On Saturday Lora and I went down to Skagit where its Tulip Time Festival was going on. We drove around to a few different fields which were gorgeous rows of colors, and then stopped in to a large farm called Roozengaarde that had a big garden full of all their different varieties. It’s amazing how many types there are. Some were tiny, and are descendants of the original tulips from Turkey. Then there were some massive ones and spikey ones and feathery ones… it was cool.
On Sunday we went to their church and afterward gathered at Jerry’s parents’ house with all of his siblings and cousins and other family. We had a big ham dinner and it was fun getting to talk with all the new people.
